Software Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Mid- or Senior Level Software Engineer with core strengths in highly scalable application design, OO PHP, database design/interaction, and demonstrable experience as a strong developer. We seek individuals that are excellent communicators, manage their time well, have a high energy level and can work independently after a complete project briefing, or effectively and reliably in a team environment on larger projects. This position reports to the Sr. Software engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and document detailed requirements, including interfacing with clients.
  • Design and create production-ready code and unit tests meeting both technical and business requirements.
  • Communicate and work effectively with others and deliver work on schedule.
  • Contribute to domain-specific expertise by reviewing code, reviewing design docs, and mentoring junior members of the team.
  • A love of what you do.

Qualifications

  • 3 – 5 years of production system experience.
  • PHP 5 – OOP + MVC Proficiency Required.
  • Excellent skills with Linux, Windows, SQL, HTML, XML, JavaScript, and .NET, and demonstrable understanding of the client-server relationship.
  • Experience building and maintaining dynamic, web-based user interfaces.
  • Strong Command-Line Unix/Linux experience with revision control, debugging, monitoring, and administrating a networked, scaled application.
  • MySQL experience and proficiency required, extra weight given to candidates with experience on high load databases.
  • Bonus points for some web design abilities, user interface design skills, automated unit test experience, XSLT, Cocoon, AJAX, JQuery, CodeIgniter, CVS, Memcache, or PDF/postscript experience.
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.

Front-End Developer

Job Description

  • Understanding of the importance of responsiveness and performance as well as techniques to achieve these goals.
  • An understanding of what makes an interface frictionless and delightful.
  • A desire to write beautiful, maintainable code.
  • Strong ability to express both content structure and meaning through HTML.
  • Up-to-date on the latest SEO techniques and strategies.
  • Working knowledge of PHP 5 – OOP + MVC.
  • Working knowledge of MySQL.

Project Manager

Job Description

The project manager is responsible for leading and facilitating all project workflow from initiation through completion within Rhino. This position is responsible for gathering all necessary information and setting daily priorities and project planning with all team members. The project manager plays a key role in ensuring work is done on-time, on budget and to the highest quality.  This individual has the demonstrated ability to multi-task and is extremely organized in a fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.  This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for being the agency’s lead project manager for all workflow through the agency.
  • Responsible for the project intake process: gathering all necessary information for project completion (briefs, specs, hours allocation by department, technical requirements, due dates, etc.), manages and negotiates expectations and timelines, etc.
  • Must know and comprehend application development/website process and terminology, specifically interactive.
  • Has the ability to work with project management software for all workflow but also understands the total flow of communication (including status meetings, email and documentation, e.g., project briefs) used by client services and functional experts.
  • Must have ability to clearly articulate expectations and schedules to team members and clients when needed, making sure appropriate information is obtained to deliver against the objectives and timelines.
  • Displays appropriate sense of urgency, prioritization and tenacity to ensure that all deadlines are maintained.
  • Sets daily priorities and project planning, attends weekly status meetings and helps route all jobs through proper approval loops to ensure quality. Tracks and maintains all projects steps and activity in agency database system.
  • Creates and maintains reports that accurately capture current agency workload and priorities.
  • Reviews every job opened in the software tracking system to confirm that all necessary information is provided.
  • Ensures deliverables are complete and of the highest quality possible and on budget.
  • Effective with internal communication with technical and design teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of project management experience.
  • Certified Project Management preferred but not required.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing project management systems within an organization.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple jobs through an organization, on-time and on-budget.

Associate Project Manager

The Associate Project Manager plays a key role in ensuring work is scheduled and completed on-time, on budget, and to the highest qualitative standards. This individual must have the ability to multi-task, be extremely organized, and demonstrate great attention to detail.

Position reports to the Director of Project Management.

  • Responsible for managing project deliverables, timelines and coordinating resources.
  • Assist project team(s), director(s) and clients with specific project requests and initiatives.
  • Must know and comprehend application development/website development process and terminology.
  • Has the ability to work with project management software for all workflow but also understands the total flow of communication (including status meetings, email and documentation, e.g., project briefs) used by client services and functional experts.
  • Must have ability to clearly articulate expectations and schedules to team members and clients when needed, making sure appropriate information is obtained to deliver against the objectives and timelines.
  • Effective with internal communication with technical, creative and professional services teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of project management experience at an interactive agency or web developer.
  • Strong customer focus and highly responsive needs customer and company needs.
  • Possesses functional knowledge of some experience with HTML/CSS.

Interactive Marketing Intern

Job Description

The Interactive Marketing Intern will work at the direction of the Director of Professional Services to implement Rhino’s social media and marketing strategy.

This individual must have the ability to multi-task, be extremely organized, and demonstrate great attention to detail.

This is a paid part time internship, approximately 5 – 10hours per week. The hourly rate is negotiable based on expereince.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and promote Rhino’s social media program.
  • Assist director(s) with specific project requests and initiatives.
  • Complete client research upon request.

Qualifications

  • Ideal for a 3rd or 4th year university student with a Marketing Communication or Advertising concentration.
  • Strong customer focus and highly responsive to the needs of customers and Rhino.
